When I lived in Hong Kong I used to love Chinese new year. Apart from the long break and the good food and celebrations it also felt like a second chance to get clear on my intentions for the coming year. Any judgments I was holding on myself about how my Jan 1st new year had started could be put aside and I could re look with fresh eyes as to what I could make possible.

7 years later I moved to Thailand and yes, their new year is around the beginning of April. So you can imagine, apart from the wild water fight celebrations, I had a third chance to get clear on my intentions. More judgments dropped and a recommitment to what I wanted to create.

Maybe, i thought, if I kept moving around the world with it’s diverse cultures, different rituals and multitude of possibilities I could keep my intentions alive throughout the year.

Obviously this was all made up in my mind. I realised that I could get present and reconnect to my intentions on any day and at any time, it’s just sometimes we humans need occasions/ rituals / or events to help anchor our desires.

So whatever your intentions are for the year of the Wood Dragon I wish you well…

Of course if you’re still unclear by September you can join us for our 3rd Odyssey of Intent retreat where you’ll get to take your intentions to a whole new level….that is until the next new year… whichever one you choose to engage with..
